Jordanna marshallJordanna is a Master’s student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. Her ethnographic research explores the intersections of animal welfare and conservation from the perspectives of wildlife rehabilitators in the Thompson-Okanagan. Jordanna received her Bachelor of Arts at the UBC Okanagan campus in 2019, where she held an Undergraduate Research Assistant position on the Disruptive Technologies and Negative Heritage Project. Jordanna has since resumed working on the project and is eager to contribute to informing policy making and best practices concerning the conservation of cultural heritage sites.
Kyle BarnesKyle is a second year MA student in Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology in the department of Ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern Studies at the University of British Columbia. While his focus during his undergrad was on labour in territorial states during the Early Bronze Age of Mesopotamia, his current focus since coming to UBC has been on Neo-Assyrian deportations. He completed his Bachelor of Arts with Honours at the University of Winnipeg. Kyle joined the Disruptive Technologies and Negative Heritage Project in October 2023 and is excited to be involved in a project that seeks to investigate and challenge the persisting colonial legacy of archaeology and cultural heritage in the Middle East.

haley seven deersHaley Seven Deers is currently an undergraduate student at UBC Okanagan pursuing a double major in Anthropology and History. While working on the Negative Heritage Project she researched and created the Dar Mar Elia Story Map. She also presented a short talk together with Jordanna Marshall at the IKBSAS Undergraduate Research Conference which outlined the current and future goals of the project.
Shanneen ChiuShanneen Chiu is an undergraduate student majoring in Anthropology at UBC Okanagan. As a member of the Negative Heritage Project, she is responsible for making the Palmyra Story Map. In her spare time, she likes learning new languages, cooking for friends and travelling.
camille MorissetteCamille is currently completing her fourth year of a Bsc in Psychology and Anthropology. As new member of the Negative Heritage Project, she is looking forward to spreading awareness about the value of conservation and contributing to this project.
alicia bondarAlicia Bondar is a current undergraduate student, completing her degree with a major in anthropology and minor in biology. She is currently researching Negative Heritage sites as a contribution to a Story Map of sites worldwide. Alicia enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and the arts.
Shay GiladShay is currently completing her fourth year of a BA in Psychology and a minor in Anthropology at the UBC Okanagan campus. As a new member of the Negative Heritage Project, she is looking forward to working with this great team to raise awareness of the value of heritage in society. Shay loves to travel, bake goodies, and spend time outdoors in the sun.
